Olay Definity Eye Serum

Under eye dark circles is one of the most common things that can happen to any of us. The source of the dark circles can be attributed to the buildup of relatively stagnant blood around our eye sockets.

Like so many things in life - eye color, curly or straight hair, and skin tone - the tendency to have dark circles is passed down from generations to generations in our genes. However, there are many who us because of busy and unhealthy lifestyle, have under eye dark circles.

So what can you do about your dark eye circles?

A quick and simple method to minimize the appearance of dark circles is to use a concealer. This is one of the fastest cures for dark circles but not very lasting. The moment you wash down your concealer makeup, the dark eye circles returns.

You can also try to use cucumber slices over your eyes. Cucumber has beneficial properties that can help to soother the delicate skin around the eyes, restoring the nutrients and strength that the under eye’s skin requires. Alternatively, administering potato or teabags over the effected area has been touted by some to be effective. However, these methods have not been scientifically proven and the results vary from individuals.

Personally, I do not find the suggestions of cucumber slices or teabags to be successful for most people as they are good only for tightening the eye area but not for dark circles. Therefore, besides using natural ingredients, you should complement it with skin care products that can help you counteract the unsightly under eye circles. Here are some ingredients in products that you may want to keep a lookout for.

1. Vitamin K serum
2. Natural skin lightenics
3. Kojic acid
4. Lincorice Extracts

If your condition persists or worsen, a visit to a physician may be necessary. Prescription steroid skin creams given by your doctor can help reduce the thickness in under-eye skin that cause your dark circles.

Besides the above, try to get plenty of sleep nightly. The recommended eight hours of sleep is a must for all of us, especially if you are suffering from having dark circles under the eyes. Take iron pills or eat more proteins as well. After all, fixing the dark circles is a lot better than trying to hide them.
